Russian drone strike on Kyiv's SBU headquarters injures seven

A Russian drone strike hit the headquarters of Ukraine's SBU security service in Kyiv on Friday, injuring at least seven people, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, vowing a retaliatory response. The attack marked a rare direct hit on a Ukrainian government building. Zelenskyy said the drone was aimed directly at the office of the SBU head, and he ordered a "tangible response" mirroring the strike. The attack occurred in Kyiv's historic center near Saint Sophia Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and also destroyed a nearby bakery. The strike came as Moscow maintained continuous drone attacks on the capital for a tenth day, with a university hit on Wednesday. Ukraine's Foreign Minister called the attack a major escalation, urging allies to increase pressure on Russia.
