Kremlin aide calls Witkoff and Kushner's Moscow visit a peacemaking step

A Kremlin official has described the visit of American delegates Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow as an "important peacemaking visit," according to a post on social media platform X. Kirill Dmitriev, Putin's representative for investment and economic cooperation, published a photo with Witkoff and Kushner near an aircraft and commented on their arrival. The American delegation landed at Moscow's Vnukovo airport amid Washington's efforts to intensify negotiations on ending Russia's war against Ukraine. Putin claimed Russia had not attacked Kyiv since midnight September 5, but said no agreement was reached on a broader three-day truce. He stated Moscow is comfortable working with Witkoff and Kushner, planning to discuss "all modalities" of the Ukraine settlement, while Witkoff called the interaction one of the best moments of his life.
