The ceasefire reportedly applies to all front sections, though no official confirmation has been provided. US President Donald Trump stated that special envoy Steve Witkoff and his son-in-law Jared Kushner are heading to Moscow with a proposal regarding ending the conflict in Ukraine. Trump did not confirm whether these are new Washington proposals, saying the US representatives intend to urge both sides to cease hostilities. TASS reported on September 4 that Witkoff and Kushner will first visit Moscow, then Kyiv on September 5-6. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced their Ukraine visit for September 6 and stated the Ukrainian army will not conduct air attacks on Russia during the US representatives' Moscow visit.
