Witkoff and Kushner to Visit Moscow and Kyiv This Weekend
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine is ready to ensure the normal functioning of Russian airspace during the visit of US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner this weekend, and called on Moscow to reciprocally observe a ceasefire. Witkoff and Kushner will visit Moscow on September 5 for talks with Vladimir Putin, then arrive in Kyiv on September 6 to meet Zelensky. Zelensky stated Ukraine will not conduct air strikes during the visit, emphasizing care for the negotiators rather than Russia. The visit follows a new three-step peace plan developed by Kyiv with Trump representatives, involving ceasefire, troop withdrawal, and a buffer zone. The Kyiv Independent reported Witkoff had safety concerns over the Kyiv leg due to Russian attacks.
