Trump envoys arrive in Moscow before Ukraine talks

US President Donald Trump's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday for talks with Russia, ahead of a planned visit to Kyiv on Sunday to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. Trump said they carry a proposal to end the conflict. The envoys are expected to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky separately, according to Axios. This marks their first trip to Kyiv, though they have visited Moscow multiple times since Trump took office, following failed US and allied peace efforts. Zelensky reported Russian strikes on Kyiv and Boryspil airports overnight, calling them "demonstrative" reactions to the US visit. He pledged to guarantee Russian airspace safety during the trip, while a strike on Dnipro killed four people. The visit follows CIA Director John Ratcliffe's rare Moscow trip last week.
