Ukrainian Adviser Says Russian Agent Guided Shahed Drone Strike on Kyiv SBU via Radio Repeater

A Russian Shahed drone strike on the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) building in Kyiv was a planned operation, with the drone possibly guided online via a radio repeater activated by a Russian agent nearby, according to a Ukrainian presidential adviser. Serhii Beskrestnov, known as Flash, stated on Telegram on Friday that the drone was likely controlled through a MESH radio repeater with internet access, switched on by an agent within a 5-kilometer radius. He noted the device is half the size of a school backpack and that no other drones were airborne, ruling out remote control from Russia. The strike on Friday targeted the SBU building on Volodymyrska Street, near St. Sophia Cathedral, with President Volodymyr Zelensky saying the drone was aimed at the office of SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad. A restaurant in the area was also destroyed, and casualties were reported.
