Russia has changed its strike tactics ahead of winter, a bad sign for Kyiv, according to Bloomberg. The new Kremlin approach has deepened Kyiv's difficulties, complicating logistics and disrupting state services. Since late August, Russia has increased the frequency of air strikes on Kyiv using jet-powered drones that are harder to intercept. Attacks now occur around the clock rather than only at night, forcing residents to adapt their lives anew. Kyiv officials reported 74 air raid sirens in the seven days before September 2, totaling 63 hours of alerts. The shift comes amid ongoing attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, with many Ukrainians expecting a repeat of last winter on a larger scale. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the government is adjusting security protocols, including a two-level alert system distinguishing drone attacks from more serious missile threats.
