US envoys arrive in Moscow to revive Ukraine peace talks

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow on Saturday to revive stalled peace efforts to end Russia's five-year invasion of Ukraine, Russian state media reported, as both sides escalated aerial attacks. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv would halt airstrikes during the visit and urged Moscow to do the same, but Russia did not publicly respond. The envoys were met at the airport by Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev, and are expected in Kyiv on Sunday. The peace push has lost momentum as US attention focused on its war with Iran. Russia intensified strikes on Kyiv, including a drone hit on the SBU headquarters, while Ukraine targeted Russian military and economic sites. Russian attacks killed five at a Dnipropetrovsk industrial facility.
