On the night of September 4, Ukrainian drones attacked Sochi and the federal territory of Sirius, causing no casualties but damaging buildings and starting a fire at an oil depot in the Krasnodar region. Retired Colonel and military expert Anatoly Matviychuk stated the drones were likely launched from Odesa, Kherson, or Zaporizhzhia in southern Ukraine, using long-range modified UAVs capable of flying over 500 kilometers. These drones, including the "Lyutyi" type and other modified models, were supplied by Western partners such as the UK and Germany. Russia's Defense Ministry reported intercepting and destroying 490 drones nationwide overnight.
