Putin Praises Trump's Ukraine Peace Push in Moscow Talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow for over three hours, with the Kremlin calling the talks constructive and trusting. The discussions focused on ending Russia's war against Ukraine. Putin's foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said Putin highlighted Russian army successes on the front and stressed the need to address what Moscow calls root causes of the conflict. The envoys will now travel to Kyiv to present Russia's position to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. This is the envoys' first visit to Ukraine after several Russia trips. Putin pledged to avoid air strikes on Kyiv during a three-day ceasefire, though Zelenskyy accused Russia of shelling Kyiv airports before the US delegation's arrival. Previous talks had stalled while the envoys focused on Iran.
