Trump Envoys Land in Moscow with Peace Plan as Russian Drone Hits Kyiv Intelligence HQ
US President Donald Trump has dispatched envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Moscow and Kyiv with a peace plan to end the war in Ukraine, while a Russian drone strike hit the headquarters of Ukraine's SBU intelligence service in Kyiv. The drone attack targeted the office of SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad, who survived the raid, prompting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to promise retaliation, stating that targets for a response have already been established. Zelensky also reported Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure and airports in Kyiv and Boryspil, which he described as a reaction to the American diplomatic mission. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said the US proposal must account for the situation on the ground, which he claimed is not favorable to Kyiv. Italian officials, including Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and General Maurizio Fioravanti, commented on Russian influence operations and reaffirmed Italy's support for Ukraine.
