Russian drone strikes SBU headquarters in Kyiv; Zelensky orders retaliation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on September 4 that a Russian drone struck the headquarters of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv, and he ordered retaliatory strikes. The drone hit the office of acting SBU chief, who was not present at the time and was unharmed. Kyiv's mayor reported at least 12 people were injured in the city from the drone impacts. The SBU had conducted a 40-day operation targeting Russian economic infrastructure from late June to late August, prompting Russian President Vladimir Putin to vow retaliation.
