Putin Tells US Envoys Ukraine War 'Not Simple' as Talks Resume in Moscow
Russian President Vladimir Putin met US special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Moscow on Saturday, telling them "the situation is of course not simple" as Washington revives efforts to end the Ukraine war. The US delegation arrived earlier in the day and was received by Russian presidential envoy Kirill Dmitriev, who has been involved in previous talks. President Donald Trump said Friday that Washington has a new, specific proposal to end the war, without offering details. Ukraine and Russia have agreed to temporarily suspend strikes on each other's capitals during the diplomatic visit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the envoys will travel to Kyiv on Sunday, while Putin ordered Russian forces to pause attacks on Kyiv for three days.
