Russian Drone Strike on Kyiv Security HQ Injures 12

Russia launched a drone strike directly targeting the headquarters of Ukraine's security service in central Kyiv for the first time since the war began, injuring 12 people. The attack occurred during an eight-day continuous assault on the capital. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated the drone targeted the office of security chief Oleksandr Poklad, who was confirmed safe and uninjured. Zelensky ordered Poklad to prepare a proportional and impactful response, with military support. The strike followed nearly eight days of near-uninterrupted Russian aerial attacks on Kyiv, hitting central buildings, warehouses, and factories. Since the renewed offensive began in August, at least 53 people have died and 134 have been injured in Kyiv and surrounding areas.
