Ukraine strikes Moscow region with 650 drones, killing two
Ukraine launched 650 drones at the Moscow region early Tuesday, killing two people and injuring seven, according to local authorities. Russian media called it the largest drone attack on the region in two years. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said most drones were destroyed by air defense, with 105 downed near the city. The strike hit the Volodarsk oil depot, the largest in the region, located about 40 kilometers from Moscow and connected to local airports. Ukraine regularly targets Russian military infrastructure to weaken Moscow's war effort, claiming over 51% of Russia's oil refining capacity has been disabled. Russia continues its own attacks on Ukrainian cities, with the full-scale war ongoing since February 2022.
