Netherlands to supply F-16 maintenance, spare parts, and ammunition to Ukraine

nv.ua (Ukrainian) —

The Netherlands will help Ukraine with maintenance, spare parts, and ammunition for F-16 fighter jets to strengthen its air defense, Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten announced following a call with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Jetten acknowledged Ukraine's shortages in these areas and pledged Dutch support, stating that strengthening Ukrainian air defense is "literally a matter of life and death." He cited recent Russian strikes on Kyiv and attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure as evidence of escalating aggression. On October 5, Zelensky said Ukraine is sourcing F-16 ammunition globally, with some shipments already en route. He also discussed air defense with French President Emmanuel Macron and the prime ministers of Poland and the Netherlands, hinting at new contracts for air defense systems.
