Russian strike on Zaporizhzhia bridge injures Red Cross workers

On the morning of October 6, the Russian army struck a bridge over the Dnieper River in Zaporizhzhia, injuring five people and temporarily restricting traffic across the structure. A total of eight people were injured in the city and district over the past day due to enemy shelling. Among the wounded are two Red Cross employees, men aged 43 and 54, who were on their way to work at the time of the strike, along with women aged 24 and 59 and a 36-year-old man. Acting head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Mykhailo Semikin, confirmed the casualties and urged residents to account for the temporary bridge closure. Over the past day, Russian forces launched 955 strikes on 58 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia region, including 22 airstrikes, 744 drone attacks, and 187 artillery strikes. Local services received 82 reports of destruction and damage to homes, vehicles, and infrastructure.
