Ukraine and Germany signed agreements worth over €8.5 billion during a business forum in Kyiv on October 4, covering air defense systems, drones, and energy cooperation. The deals include memorandums with Diehl Defence for IRIS-T systems, Hensoldt for radars, and Quantum Systems for interceptor drones, plus energy agreements with Siemens Energy and grid operators. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz called the partnership mutually beneficial. Merz also announced a new €1.35 billion aid package during his second visit to Kyiv as chancellor, with €1 billion for weapons and €350 million for energy security.
