Zelensky: F-16 ammunition shipments to Ukraine are underway

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that ammunition for F-16 fighter jets is already being shipped to Ukraine, with some packages currently in transit as the country searches globally for supplies. Zelensky stated that F-16s are among the most effective tools for shooting down Russian jet-powered Shahed drones. He discussed air defense reinforcement with French President Emmanuel Macron and the prime ministers of Poland and the Netherlands, adding that Ukraine is preparing new contracts for air defense systems and missiles. Russia has intensified attacks using jet-powered drones, which require faster interception methods. Zelensky also called for more anti-ballistic missile systems to protect infrastructure, while Belgium pledged to deliver three F-16s to Ukraine by the end of 2026.
