Drones Sink One Ship, Hit Another in Bulgaria's Black Sea Waters
Drones attacked two commercial ships in Bulgaria's Black Sea exclusive economic zone, sinking one vessel in the first such attack on Bulgarian waters. A large rescue operation is underway, and Prime Minister Rumen Radev has convened an emergency meeting. The sunken ship, the Togo-flagged general cargo vessel "Alfa Watan," suffered severe structural damage. The other target, the Palau-flagged "Able," caught fire, forcing its 18-member crew to evacuate; all were rescued by the Bulgarian ferry "Dioscuria," with some injured receiving medical aid. The origin of the drones is still being investigated. The incident occurred east of Cape Saint Atanas and the town of Byala, prompting a coordinated response from Bulgarian defense, interior, transport, and security officials.
