Zelensky announces global ammunition deals for F-16s and Rafale pilot training

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced new agreements on ammunition for F-16 fighter jets, which are being sourced globally to counter Russian Shahed drones. He also confirmed Ukrainian pilots will begin training on French Rafale aircraft. Zelensky discussed the ammunition supplies with the prime ministers of Poland and the Netherlands, thanking them for their support. He also spoke with French President Emmanuel Macron about new defense packages and the Rafale pilot training, which is expected to begin imminently. Ukraine currently shoots down 50-55% of Shahed drones, with F-16s and 20mm ammunition playing a key role. Kyiv aims to use 5-6 thousand 20mm rounds daily and continues negotiating supplies, while some F-16s remain in Europe for maintenance.
