Moscow reports massive drone attack, claims 650 UAVs intercepted
Moscow authorities reported a massive overnight drone attack on the Russian capital and its region, claiming 650 unmanned aerial vehicles were launched between the evening of Monday and the morning of Tuesday, October 6. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that air defense forces destroyed most of the drones, including 105 during their approach to the city. The Federal Air Transport Agency temporarily restricted operations at four major airports—Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky—before resuming normal service after 5 a.m. Telegram channels reported a fire at the Volodarsk oil pumping station near Moscow, one of the region's largest fuel depots. Sobyanin confirmed emergency services were working at debris fall sites, with the total number of claimed intercepted drones reaching 93 by early morning.
