Moscow authorities reported a drone attack on the Russian capital overnight on October 6, with Telegram channels stating that drones were striking the Moscow region from multiple directions. Russia's aviation agency restricted operations at four Moscow airports, including Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, and Zhukovsky. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin claimed 28 drones were shot down in two separate statements, while Telegram channels reported a strike on an oil refinery in Kapotnya. The reports come amid ongoing Ukrainian drone strikes targeting Russian territory. Emergency services were deployed to debris fall sites, according to Sobyanin's statements.
