Ukraine says it knocked out 51% of Russia's oil refining capacity

timesofindia.indiatimes.com —

Ukraine's defence ministry claimed on Monday that its forces have put more than 51 percent of Russia's oil refining capacity out of action, a move aimed at cutting Moscow's revenue for its war effort. The ministry detailed strikes on refineries in Moscow, Yaroslavl, Saratov, and other regions, with Defence Minister Evgeniy Khmara calling it systematic work to destroy Russia's military-economic potential. Kyiv has also tripled its production of long-range strike drones this year. In response, Russia has threatened to intensify attacks on Ukrainian military and civilian infrastructure, following a major drone and missile assault on Kyiv's power grid last week. Ukraine also recently deployed its new home-built FP-7 ballistic missile in combat for the first time.
