Ukrainian drone attack targets Moscow region oil facility
Russia reported a major Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region overnight, with around 650 drones launched. Authorities confirmed two deaths and nine injuries, with a key oil facility reportedly targeted. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said most drones were destroyed on approach, with 105 shot down near the capital. Regional Governor Andrei Vorobyov reported intercepting 185 drones and damage to private homes in several towns. Moscow airports resumed operations after a five-hour suspension. The attack may have hit the Volodarskaya oil pumping station, a major fuel hub supplying airports including Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo. Ukraine regularly strikes Russian oil infrastructure to reduce export revenues funding the war, while Russia continues systematic aerial attacks on Ukrainian cities.
