Ukrainian drone strike sparks fire at Moscow region's largest oil depot
A fire broke out at the Volodarskaya oil base, the largest in the Moscow region, following a Ukrainian drone attack on the night of October 5-6. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported the strikes, while Russian authorities claimed to have intercepted most of the incoming drones. The Russian Telegram channel ASTRA identified the blaze at the Volodarskaya linear production and dispatch station in the village of Konstantinovo. The facility, part of Transneftproduct, has an annual turnover of about 3 million tons of fuel and supplies major Moscow airports including Vnukovo, Domodedovo, and Sheremetyevo. Sobyanin did not report damage or casualties. The attack follows a September 20 fire at a Gazpromneft refinery near Moscow, which Ukraine's defense forces confirmed striking. By late July, Ukraine had disabled over 30% of Russia's actual and 45% of its nominal oil refining capacity.
