Two dead as cargo ship sinks in Black Sea; Ukraine blames Russian drone attack
Two people died after a fire broke out on a cargo ship in the Black Sea, which subsequently sank, according to Romania. Eleven crew members were rescued from the vessel. The Romanian coast guard was alerted around 11:00 AM, with the ship located about 55 kilometers south of Sfantu Gheorghe, outside territorial waters. Ukraine's President Zelensky accused Russia of a drone attack on the Turkish ship carrying corn, while Romania did not state the fire's cause. The vessel, identified as the Royad Mammadov, had departed from Ukraine's Izmail port en route to Italy, with wounded crew airlifted to a hospital. Russia has not yet responded, as grain shipments become a key target in the ongoing conflict.
