Trump envoys visit Ukraine after Moscow talks

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to visit Ukraine for the first time after holding three-hour talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Saturday evening. The Kremlin described the Moscow meeting as "constructive, extremely frank and marked by trust," with Russian officials saying the Americans presented ideas for a settlement. The envoys landed in Rzeszow, Poland, near the Ukrainian border, early Sunday, with travel to Ukraine typically done by train due to closed airports. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted the possibility of a direct flight from Moscow to Kyiv was considered but abandoned. Russian strikes on Kyiv airports Friday night were called "demonstrative" by Zelensky, while Putin ordered a three-day halt on strikes on the capital during the talks.
