Russian dictator Vladimir Putin called the situation in Ukraine "complicated" but has not abandoned plans to seize more territory, Reuters reported. During talks in the Kremlin on September 5 with US President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Putin praised Trump's efforts to end the war. A Kremlin source said Moscow still expects to capture more Ukrainian territory, aiming to control the rest of Donetsk Oblast by year's end. The three-hour meeting was described as "substantive" and "trusting." Witkoff and Kushner will next hold contacts with Ukrainian officials in Kyiv.
