Zelenskyy adviser warns of mutual destruction if Ukraine war continues

Ukraine's defence technology adviser Serhii Beskrestnov has warned that neither Russia nor Ukraine can win the ongoing war, predicting mutual destruction through escalating long-range strikes that increasingly endanger civilians and infrastructure. Beskrestnov, known by the call sign Flash, said the conflict is deadlocked on the frontline while both sides intensify deep strikes, with Russia capable of sustained bombing of Kyiv's energy systems this winter using over 100 ballistic missiles produced monthly. He suggested evacuating elderly civilians from the capital and noted Ukraine plans to launch 1,000 drones nightly against Russian targets. The adviser highlighted Russia's suspected first use of AI-guided drones and development of faster jet-powered Shaheds, while Ukraine faces shortages of Patriot interceptors. UN figures show 437 civilians killed in Ukraine in July, the highest monthly toll since March 2022.
