Zelensky calls Kyiv talks with Witkoff and Kushner substantive
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said all three rounds of talks with US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in Kyiv were highly substantive. He stated Ukraine expects a winter aid package. Zelensky said the talks allowed sufficient attention to the winter period and its challenges, and that he discussed the aid package with both American and European representatives. He noted that the most difficult issues, such as territorial ones, must be resolved only at the level of state leaders. Witkoff and Kushner visited Moscow on September 5 for talks with Vladimir Putin. Reports indicate Trump will call Putin and Zelensky after being briefed on the visits. Zelensky also mentioned an upcoming Ukraine-Europe-US meeting.
