US envoys report 'significant' talks with Zelensky on ending Russia war

univision.com (Spanish)

US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff said Sunday they held "significant" talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on a plan to end the war with Russia, during their first trip to Kiev. The talks followed a Saturday meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. Putin ordered a three-day halt to bombings on Kiev, and Ukraine suspended attacks on Moscow. The envoys also met with security officials from the UK, France, and Germany. Kushner and Witkoff have visited Moscow eight times as mediators in the conflict, which began with Russia's 2022 invasion. Peace efforts have stalled, partly due to a US war with Iran, while long-range attacks continue.
