US envoys visit Kyiv to revive peace talks after Moscow meeting

US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv on Sunday to revive peace talks, following a three-hour Moscow meeting with Vladimir Putin that yielded no announced breakthroughs. Kyiv expressed readiness for constructive discussions. The emissaries' visit comes after Saturday's closed-door talks in Moscow, which Putin's adviser called constructive but without specific outcomes. President Zelenskyy stated Ukraine seeks a just, sustainable peace with security guarantees, while both sides agreed to pause strikes on each other's capitals during negotiations. Despite the capital-strike pause, fighting continued elsewhere overnight. Russian attacks killed one and injured at least 10 in Ukraine, while Moscow reported shooting down 258 Ukrainian drones across 14 regions. The air war has intensified along the 1,250-kilometre front line.
