US envoys Witkoff and Kushner arrive in Kyiv for talks with Zelensky
US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv on Sunday for talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, marking their first visit to Ukraine amid peace mediation efforts. The two American officials traveled by train from Poland and were greeted at the central station by Ukraine's negotiating team, including military intelligence chief Kirill Budanov and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. The visit follows their Saturday meeting in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky stated Ukraine is ready for dialogue and wants to accelerate peace negotiations, emphasizing the need for security guarantees and a "dignified" peace. Peace talks have been stalled for over six months due to the US-Iran conflict and disagreements between Russia and Ukraine.
