Kushner: US working to end war before winter, but outcome not guaranteed
US President's special envoy Jared Kushner said after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European representatives that ending Russia's war against Ukraine before winter is not guaranteed, but the US is working to create conditions for it. Kushner stated at a press conference that the problem is very complex, and while the US will try, achieving this outcome is not certain. He also said President Trump seeks not only an end to the war but also a long-lasting peace. On September 5, US envoys Steve Witkoff and Kushner visited Moscow for talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. On September 6, they arrived in Ukraine for the first time to participate in negotiations on ending the war.
