Putin, Trump envoys hold three-hour talks on Ukraine war
Russian President Vladimir Putin held over three hours of late-night talks in Moscow on Saturday with US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, as Washington intensifies efforts to end the war in Ukraine. The Kremlin meeting ended shortly after 11:00pm, ahead of the envoys' planned first visit to Kyiv on Sunday. Russia and Ukraine have agreed to refrain from attacking each other's capitals for three days to facilitate the diplomatic engagement. Putin thanked President Donald Trump for his continued efforts, while Washington has not disclosed whether its peace proposal would require Kyiv to surrender territory. The conflict has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives, with 10 people killed in Russian attacks on Saturday.
