The first round of talks between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump's special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner has concluded, according to Zelensky's press secretary Serhiy Nikiforov. A brief break will precede further negotiations involving Ukrainian, American, and European participants. Witkoff and Kushner arrived in Ukraine for their first visit to participate in talks on ending the war. They were met by Ukrainian officials, and Zelensky confirmed the negotiations began at 14:15 on September 6, following a meeting with Ukraine's negotiating team. The envoys previously held talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on September 5, lasting over three hours. The Kremlin indicated Putin received their proposals, but Bloomberg reported the visits have yielded no results, with Moscow unwilling to abandon its military goals in Ukraine.
