US envoys Witkoff and Kushner visit Kyiv after Moscow talks with Putin

U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv on Sunday for their first official visit to Ukraine, following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, as part of a renewed push to end the war. The Moscow meeting lasted over three hours with no announced breakthroughs, though Putin's adviser called it constructive. Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Kyiv is ready for "constructive" discussions, while rejecting Russia's demands to withdraw from parts of Donetsk and Luhansk. Despite an agreement to pause strikes on capitals during talks, both sides exchanged aerial attacks overnight, with Russia reporting 258 Ukrainian drones shot down and Ukraine intercepting 82 Russian drones. Washington's peace push had lost momentum amid U.S. focus on the Iran war.
