Witkoff urges concessions after 'significant' talks with Zelenskiy in Kyiv
US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Kyiv on Sunday for about three hours, with Witkoff calling the talks "significant" and urging both Russia and Ukraine to make concessions to end the war. Witkoff said both sides must reduce their differences and that the US has the necessary elements to achieve a diplomatic solution, while Zelenskiy agreed the talks were positive but stressed territorial issues can only be resolved at the presidential level. He added the war appears likely to continue through winter. The envoys arrived from Moscow after meeting Vladimir Putin on Saturday, and Kushner said the trip opened new paths forward. The next round of talks will include national security advisors from the UK, France, and Germany.
