Zelensky: War with Russia to Continue Through Winter

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the war with Russia will continue this winter, despite US envoys reporting "significant" talks in Moscow and Kyiv on Sunday. Zelensky said he counts on European support if fighting persists through winter, adding that territorial issues can only be resolved at the level of heads of state. US envoy Steve Witkoff said both sides must make compromises, while Russia has refused direct negotiations with Kyiv. The talks marked the first Ukraine visit for Witkoff and Jared Kushner since their mediation began. Negotiations remain stalled on territorial demands, with Moscow insisting on a full Ukrainian withdrawal from Donetsk. Russia suspended strikes on Kyiv for three days, but overnight attacks continued elsewhere.
