Zelensky: US envoys to hold intensive Kyiv talks with Ukrainian and European officials
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Sunday that US President Donald Trump's special envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will hold intensive talks in Kyiv, first with Ukrainian officials and then with European partners. Zelensky stressed the importance of the US delegation's visit, noting they had long awaited Witkoff and Kushner and thanked Trump for granting them official authorization. The envoys arrived in Kyiv earlier Sunday as Washington seeks to advance peace efforts in Ukraine. The US envoys visited Moscow on Saturday, meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin for over three hours. Zelensky said Ukraine's goal is for the visit and talks to be as constructive and objective as possible.
