Witkoff: US expects trilateral talks with Ukraine and Russia soon

US Special Representative Steve Witkoff stated that the US seeks a diplomatic end to the war in Ukraine and expects a quick announcement of trilateral talks involving Washington, Kyiv, and Moscow. Witkoff said the American delegation brought ideas from Moscow to Kyiv and heard President Zelensky's position on the talks. He stressed that both sides will have to make compromises, with European representatives also present in Kyiv. During the September 6 talks, Ukraine raised the Donbas issue, calling it key to the war. Ukraine also discussed winter support and security guarantees, as the conflict may continue through winter.
