Zelenskyy tells UN that Putin alone blocks ending the war

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told world leaders Wednesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin is the sole obstacle to ending the "senseless and endless war," urging nations to pressure him for peace by choking Russia's revenues and war efforts. Speaking at the UN General Assembly, Zelenskyy said Russia's ability to finance, prolong, and intensify the war must be stopped, adding that Moscow always rejects diplomacy when it earns money from trade. He stressed that Russia's revenues should remain a target. Earlier Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov clashed with Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha and European supporters at a UN Security Council meeting, and also met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the assembly's sidelines to discuss the war.
