Zelensky open to trilateral meeting with Putin and Trump; Kyiv hit by Russian drone attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin and suggested the White House chief of staff could help organize a trilateral meeting, following talks with Donald Trump at the UN. Zelensky also requested a winter military aid package, including Patriot missile systems. A Russian drone attack on Kyiv at dawn forced the suspension of the city's urban railway service, with strikes and fires reported in several districts. Debris fell on residential buildings and a transport company, while two gas stations were destroyed. A total of 161 drones were used in raids across Ukrainian regions. A Russian strike on a merchant ship in Odessa port killed its Ukrainian captain, according to regional authorities. Separately, a Russian attack on a shopping center in Zaporizhzhia injured two men. The EU agreed on new sanctions against Russia, but Kyiv protested their exclusion of oligarchs.
