Zelensky: Three types of ceasefire with Russia under discussion

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that three types of ceasefire with Russia are currently under discussion: energy, grain, and maritime. He made the remarks to journalists in New York on September 22. Zelensky said Ukraine is ready to refrain from striking Russian energy facilities. He noted both sides are interested in a maritime ceasefire, which could cover grain, energy, and metallurgy, and discussed it with leaders from the US, Egypt, Turkey, the UAE, and India. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on September 23 that both Ukraine and Russia expressed interest in a limited ceasefire. A joint statement from 51 UN member states called on Russia to accept a full ceasefire, which Ukraine agreed to in March 2025.
