Zelensky sets condition for energy truce with Russia

rbc.ua (Russian) —

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Kyiv is ready for an energy truce with Russia, offering to halt strikes on Russian energy facilities if Moscow stops attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Zelensky said he discussed the truce with former US President Donald Trump but did not reveal details, adding that Ukraine is open to any format. He emphasized that Kyiv will not agree to a unilateral ceasefire, stating, "If they don't want us to attack their refineries, let them not touch our energy system." The president stressed that Ukraine is not a "donor" to Putin and will respond to any attacks, while expressing hope that American mediation could bring Russia to negotiations.
