Zelensky tells UN to stop Putin, urges Xi to push for peace in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told the UN General Assembly that Russian President Vladimir Putin must be stopped, calling him the "patient zero" of the war who cannot live without conflict. Zelensky urged leaders to maintain economic pressure on Moscow by halting trade and to continue military support for Kyiv. He also appealed to Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is visiting the US, to use his influence over Russia to seek peace. Zelensky warned that Russia uses soldiers from 47 countries and that sanctions relief for Russian oligarchs prolongs the war. He claimed Russia's budget deficit is high and its summer offensive failed.
