Zelenskyy tells UN to keep squeezing Russia's war funds

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged world leaders Wednesday at the UN General Assembly to continue restricting Russia's revenues and war efforts, stating that "Russia's revenues must remain a target." Zelenskyy argued that increased trade with Russia prolongs the war, while Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow is prepared for lasting peace negotiations but not a mere pause that would allow Ukraine to rearm. The war, which began over 4.5 years ago, has caused over 500,000 casualties on each side, disrupted global fuel and grain supplies, and intensified long-range drone and missile attacks despite largely static front lines.
