Zelenskyy tells UN Russia recruited citizens from 47 countries, including India, to fight in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told the UN General Assembly that Russia has recruited citizens from 47 countries, including India, Nepal and Ghana, to fight in its war against Ukraine. Zelenskyy accused Moscow of using financial incentives, deception and trafficking networks to recruit foreigners, with some promised civilian jobs or education before being coerced into military service. He urged the affected governments to protect their citizens and investigate the recruitment networks. India is among the countries named, with previous reports of Indian nationals being misled about work in Russia. Ghana reported 62 citizens killed in Ukraine, prompting it to ask Moscow to stop recruiting. Zelenskyy also mentioned North Korean troops deployed in support of Russian forces.
