Iran sets conditions for ending war with US via Qatar, demands sanctions lifted

Iran has communicated conditions to end hostilities with the United States through Qatari mediators, including a complete end to US aggression, naval blockade, and sanctions, as well as the release of frozen Iranian assets, according to Iranian Foreign Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei on Tuesday during the UN General Assembly. Baghaei stated these conditions were not new and had been conveyed to the US earlier this week, with Iran's positions on the Strait of Hormuz and regional security unchanged. He dismissed President Trump's UNGA speech as repetitive claims stemming from desperation, calling military threats an admission of international crimes. Trump's UNGA address denounced Iran as "the number one sponsor of terror" and claimed Operation Epic Fury had destroyed Iran's navy, air force, and missile capabilities. He threatened to either make a deal with Iran or "annihilate the Islamic Republic," while vowing never to allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon.
